A life holds more than photographs
A photograph captures a moment. The voice of someone who was there can explain what was happening, why it mattered and what they learned. A recipe can hold a family tradition; a piece of advice can carry a lifetime of experience.
Time Machine brings those stories together with their original sources and the context that gives them meaning. Each person chooses what to tell, who it is for and when to allow access.
Memory and emotional continuity
In this experience, emotional continuity means being able to return to a story, a voice or a lesson that someone chose to share. It can begin during life, between generations that still have so much to ask each other.
Preserving a story does not replace the person or the relationship. It offers a way to revisit what they told and recognize the bond behind that memory.
People and their choices
- Creator
- Preserves their stories and sets who can access them and when.
- Traveler
- Explores Memories or talks with a Presence they are authorized to access.
- Custodian
- A person designated to carry out limited instructions from the Creator. Being designated does not make them the owner of the memories.
- Icon
- A Creator with an authorized Official Edition and public profile. Their private archive remains separate from the content they may share publicly.
- Partner
- An organization that helps bring the experience to people. That relationship does not grant access to private Memories.
From an Echo to a Presence
- Echo
- A capture: a photograph, audio recording, video, text or testimony that contributes to a story.
- Memory
- Preserved content together with its context and original sources.
- Presence
- A conversational experience built on real, authorized sources. Its answers must remain connected to that material.
The scope of the experience
Time Machine is being built around memories and relationships chosen by each person. It is not a social network, a generic memorial or simply a place to store files.
It does not promise immortality or bring anyone back to life. It does not diagnose, treat or recover lost memories. Its purpose is to preserve what a person can and wishes to tell, with permission and clear boundaries.
